Machu Picchu one day tour itinerary
3.30-4.00 Pick up from Cusco – Ollantaytambo
We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning (around 3.30-4.00 approximately) and take you to Ollantaytambo train station by bus. This trip will take about 2 hours until we arrive at the same train station which is located in the town of Ollantaytambo, it is there where we will board the train that will take us to our next destination which is the town of Aguas Calientes or also known as Machu Picchu village. During this tour we will be able to see an Andean sunrise.
Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes(Machu Picchu village)
The train journey from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. We will arrive at approximately 8:20 in the morning in Aguas Calientes, where our staff will be waiting for you at the train station to help you board the bus to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu located at the top of the mountain, the journey from the small village to the sanctuary will take 20 minutes.
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Sanctuary
Finally, we arrive at the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which will dazzle us with its imposing presence (around 09:00 am), there our tour guide will be waiting for you and will take you on a guided tour of approximately 2 hours and visit the main sites of Machu Picchu such as the main square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Royal Inca Cemeteries. Once this is finished, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own and take pictures or just walk around the Machu Picchu site.
At the end of the guided tour, you will have free time to enjoy Machu Picchu in your own way, either taking pictures or exploring the site on your own. Remember that we will also have limited times that are set by the Peruvian government.
Machu Picchu Sanctuary – Aguas Calientes
In the afternoon we will have time to have lunch or explore the town of Aguas Calientes on our own, this town has a variety of restaurants and handicraft shops. According to the timetable on our train ticket, we will head to the only station where we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
Once in Ollantaytambo, one of our staff will be waiting for you with a sign and your name written on it, who will help you to board the train that will take you back to Cusco.
Important: Train schedules may vary depending on availability.
Ollantaytambo – Cusco
In the evening we will arrive in Cusco depending on the timetable of the return train, our final stop will be at the San Francisco square in the historic centre of Cusco, a few blocks from the main square.
- Train return 18:20 pm – Arrival at 10:20 pm
- Train return 21:50 pm – Arrival at 1 am
“If your accommodation is outside the historic centre, we recommend booking a taxi, which is not included and will have an additional cost depending on the number of people”.
Note: You must email us a scanned copy or photo of your passport immediately after booking your tour. This is to enable the purchase of your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu. This must be the passport you will need to enter Machu Picchu. This is a requirement when booking a tour to Machu Picchu with any organizer.

It is not possible to add the visit to Machu Picchu Hill or Huaynapicchu Hill due to the scheduling of this tour.
