Itinerary Humantay Lake Tour
4:30 to 5:00 am – Cusco – Mollepata
We will start very early to pick you up from your different hotels from 04.30 to 05:00 am, and then we will go to the town of Mollepata where we will have our typical local breakfast.
Mollepata Breakfast – Soraypampa
Already in Mollepata with breakfast and with our stomachs full, we will return to our mobility to continue our journey, during the trip we will be able to see the beautiful Andean landscapes, mountains, and valleys, as well as the Molle tree that is very common in the area of Mollepata, after this tour we will arrive at Soraypampa, place where we will begin our walk towards the Humantay lagoon.
Soraypampa – Humantay Lagoon
It is in this place of Soraypampa that our local guide will give us enough time to prepare our equipment, poles, water, and personal backpacks to then start our light hike to the Humantay lagoon where we will reach an altitude of 4,250 meters above sea level, our ascent lasts about an hour and a half or 2 hours to reach the Humantay lagoon (depending on the walking pace) where we will have enough time to enjoy and contemplate the lagoon full of magic and colors, as well as the famous Salkantay snow-capped mountain.
Already in the lagoon, our guide will tell you local stories and local customs such as the use of coca leaves to offer to the tutelary gods of the mountains, we will be part of this unforgettable experience.
Humantay Lagoon – Soraypampa – Mollepata Lunch
After having witnessed the wonderful experience of the Humantay Lagoon, we will head back to our transportation to go to Mollepata, where we will enjoy our lunches.
Back to Cusco
Again with a full stomach, we will return to the imperial city of Cusco arriving at approximately 18:00 at San Francisco Square which is near the central square of Cusco, thus ending this fantastic tour.
