Itinerary Machu Picchu by car 2D/1N
Day 1 – 7:30 am – Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Santa Teresa
We will pick you up from your hotel or meeting point in Cusco between 7:30 and 7: 45 am, then we will head towards Santa Teresa in approximately 6 hours, already in the town of Ollantaytambo we will make a brief stop of 15 minutes to use the toilets or buy some snacks for the road, we will go through a winding ascent to the pass of Malaga pass located at an altitude of 4316 masl where you can see a beautiful landscape of the high Andean zone with snowy peaks, then descend into the jungle area passing through villages belonging to Cusco to reach Santa Teresa.
Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes
After passing Santa Teresa and a brief stop in the village. 2:00 p.m. We will arrive at Hidroeléctrica. Where our hike begins, which is approximately 2:30 at a normal pace. From Hidroeléctrica, you will also have the option to take a train (25 minutes ride) if you do not want to walk, but this has an extra cost of US$ 35 (95% of people walk), once you arrive at Aguas Calientes you will go directly to the accommodation that we will provide, then you will have free time if you want you can visit the hot springs (entrance fee S/15 not included). Then you will have dinner, and in the evening the tour guide will give you the instructions about the visit for the next day.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Hydroelectric – Cusco.
The next day we will wake up around 4:30 to 5:00 am, to board the bus, which will take us to the archaeological park of Machu Picchu.

There is an alternative of a 40-minute walk to get to Machu Picchu (but be careful it is uphill), you also have the option of taking a bus to get to the archaeological center of Machu Picchu (15 minutes cost US$ 12), the first bus leaves at 5:30 am. Upon arrival at the gate of Machupicchu park, we will meet the guide and join the group to start the tour, we will be walking receiving information from our local guide for about an hour, around the main parts of the citadel, places of great importance such as the temple of the sun, the house of the Inca, the area of the water mirrors, the temple of the condor, the Plaza Mayor, the Intiwatana and among others, then, you will have free time to take pictures and explore Machu Picchu on your own for about an hour.
End of the tour to Machu Picchu by bus, return to Cusco.
Then we will have to walk back to Hidroeléctrica (3 hours) where we will take our bus (departure 15:00 hrs.) to return back to Cusco (arrival approx. 21:30 hrs.).
